Need a Hero? 5 Steps to Solving Any Problem

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

Since the beginning of time, trials and tribulations have been a major part of our daily lives. Humans have found themselves in all kinds of challenging situations where their actions determined their outcomes. People have demonstrated an amazing ability to take an almost certain catastrophe and turn it into a successful triumph. How we deal with these challenging situations where there’s so much on the line will have a great impact on the quality of our lives. Martin Luther King said, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

Houston, We Have a Problem

Here’s the situation, you are dealing with a major crisis that appears to be getting worse by the minute. Anything that could’ve gone wrong, already has. Nothing is going as expected and it seems like things are just getting worse by the minute. Even though you thought you prepared for everything, You are rattled beyond your wildest expectations because no one could’ve imagined this unbelievable crisis. What do you do? How do you act? Do you just cry and complain as you watch your demise? Or do you give it everything you have as you try to pull off the impossible?

Here is What You Don’t do

Most people will just sit around and sabotage their chances by focusing on all the negatives. Focusing your attention on the negatives during any challenging situation will only magnify your problem. Why would anyone in their right mind want to create an atmosphere that makes their situation more difficult than it already is? The last thing you want to do during a challenging situation is to defeat yourself before you even get started.

Now is The Time to

We are all created equal, what sets us apart is our hearts and minds. That might seem like a little difference, but that little difference, makes a huge difference in this game called life. I don’t care who you are or what your situation is, as long as you give yourself a chance, there will always be a chance. Follow this time tested secret to solving any situation. Time for some Action.

5 Steps To Solve Any Situation

1. Start off by getting excited about your opportunity to provide a solution. Your attitude is everything. Believe without a doubt that you can find the solution. Stay cool, calm, and collected because your attitude towards the situation is critical to your success. Having the best attitude will always put you in the best state of mind which is very important when it comes to being a master of solutions. Remember to always believe in your abilities to find the solution. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks you can or can’t do. It only matters what you believe you can do. A believer will always be an achiever.

2. Now is not the time to play the blame game. Forget about what you could have done, there’s no time for that. It’s all about what you are going to do now. No one can change the past, but we all can change our futures. It is very important that you get the highest and best use of your time when it comes to finding solutions. Its critical not to waste a precious second on things that you can’t do anything about, like the past. Too many people will waste too much time blaming and complaining that they often leave themselves with little time or chance to find a solution.

3. Analyzing the situation should only take up about 5% of your time. This is what I like to call situation analysis. Find out exactly what the problem is. This step is crucial to your success because if you don’t know exactly what the problem is, there’s no way to find a solution. Discover the problem! Find the need, fill the gap.

4. Spend 95% of your time seeking the solution. This is your time to shine so step up and find the solution. Don’t be afraid to take a risk, because the greatest risk is the one that you don’t take. Stay flexible in your approach. Keep trying different approaches until you succeed. Many people have achieved the unthinkable during chaotic times. There is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to do the same.

5. Learn from the situation and move on. Don’t keep making the same mistakes. It is imperative that you use every experience in life to make you a better person. “Win or Learn, there is no failure,” Henry Ford.”

Whether you believe its possible or whether you believe its impossible. You are right. Take your passion and make it happen.

Tough Questions Suck, But You Have to Ask Them

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

Many people will fail to reach their full potential because they are afraid to ask themselves the tough questions. Tough questions usually have tough answers that we really don’t like to hear. Are you afraid of the answers to your tough questions? Is that why you are not asking them of yourself? Don’t drown in the river of denial. Don’t postpone asking yourself those difficult questions any longer. You know what you’re not happy about. You know where you are in your life today. It doesn’t matter how you got here, you are here. You can’t afford to dwell in the past because you can’t change it. What matters the most is the decision you make today. What matters the most is the action you take moving forward.

Sitting on your butt got you here today. Are you going to sit back and expect to change by continuing to sit on your butt? I don’t think so. Benjamin Franklin said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. You are not insane. Stop acting like it. If you keep doing what you’ve been doing you are going to keep getting what you’ve been getting except it only gets worse. Don’t be your own worst enemy. Don’t sabotage the quality of your life by failing to reach your full potential. No one is going to help you. You must help yourself. You have to want it in your life. You have to accept the fact that something must change. You must be the catalyst of that change. Don’t succumb to the tranquilizing drug of procrastination. Get off your ass and take some massive action because time isn’t on your side.

Make a promise to live better. Make a commitment to give yourself a better quality of life. Decide right now to take control of your destiny. Get going on the best days of your life. The decision you make today can shape your future like nothing else can. Empower yourself today. Elevate your life to the next level and don’t stop climbing. The promise land of success and happiness has a view that makes utopia look like a garbage landfill.

Don’t play games with your life, because life is not a game. Its a journey. We get to determine our destination. Are you going to the dark and desolate desert of despair? Or are you going to the empowering mountaintop of the extraordinary life? Take the first step now. Take control of your life today. The greatest day of your life will be the one on which you decided to take total control of your life. The day you stopped making excuses on why you couldn’t. The day you decided to make yourself accountable for your own actions. On that day, you will experience a freedom that’s just exhilarating. That will be the day where your life truly begins. That will be the day that shapes your destiny. You are the navigator of your life. Take yourself to the top of promise land mountain. The view is mesmerizing. Make the rest of your life, the best of your life. Take massive action now.

What’s at Stake? Everything

What’s at Stake

Thomas Edison claimed to have failed over 10,000 times while trying to invent electricity. How was he able to stay so committed to achieving his desired goal after failing so much? Thomas Edison knew what was at stake. He knew that his legacy as one of the greatest inventors of all time depended on him inventing electricity.

Thomas Edison said, “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. If I find 10,000 ways something won’t work, I haven’t failed. I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is often a step forward.” He believed that every failure he experienced was only getting him closer to finding the solution to his problem. How many people would’ve quit when facing the same adversity as he faced?

It is almost impossible to achieve something extraordinary without experiencing some kind of setback or temporary defeat. One of my idols Napoleon Hill said, “No man ever achieved worthwhile success who did not, at one time or another, find himself with at least one foot hanging well over the brink of failure. One of the most common causes of failure is the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat.”

I can’t tell you how many times I have found myself on the brink of failure, only to succeed? It is one of life’s most rewarding feelings to know that you’ve succeeded when you were so close to failing. Have you found yourself in that position before? What kept you from throwing in the towel? I guarantee that you had too much to lose to quit.

Fear of Loss Or Hope For Gain?

When you set out to achieve something extraordinary, you must consider what’s at stake for you. What have you got to lose if you don’t make it? What do you have to gain when you achieve your desired goal? The more reasons why you have to achieve your desired goal, the more motivation and determination you will have to achieve your desired goal. The more reasons why you have behind your cause, the more committed you will stay when things don’t go your way.

Trust me, there will come a time when you are cruising down easy street on your way to achieving your goal and something is going to knock you so hard on your ass that you might not even know what hit you. When you are facing that painful feeling of failure, your judgement is not where it needs to be. That’s when that devilish little voice in your head is going to try to persuade you to quit. Lets face it, quitting is usually the easy thing to do. Everyone is doing it, its okay if you quit, right? Wrong, I’ve quit before and it sucks. There are still skeletons in my closet from throwing in the towel when I should’ve soldiered on. I can’t take that back, and neither can you. Do you have some quitting skeletons in your closet? We can’t change the past but we are in total control of our future. Its entirely up to us to make sure we never make the same mistake again. The best way to do that is to totally understand what’s at stake. Understand what you have to lose. Understand what you have to gain. Understand that you can achieve anything you believe.

Next Time I Will Persevere

The next time you find yourself on the brink of failure, its okay. Failure is a part of the journey. Failure is a chance to begin again more intelligently. Failure is just an outcome, that’s all it is, its just an outcome. Take a deep breath and focus on all the reasons why you have to keep on keeping on. Focus on everything you have to gain. Focus on everything you have to lose. The more reasons you have, the more empowered you will be. Anyone can quit when the going gets tough. It takes a real winner to persevere in the face of adversity. If I can do it, then so can you. Winners never quit and quitters never win.

Three Types of People in This World

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

There are three types of people in this world. There’s the people who don’t care about making things happen. Then there’s the people who consistently make things happen. Then there’s those who criticize and envy those people who make things happen. Which one of these are you?

Don’t get the wrong idea about these individuals who don’t care about making things happen. They can’t make things happen because they are too busy working their tales off trying to make the impossible happen. I mean come on, do you really know how hard it is to focus your undivided attention on a wall clock for eight hours straight as you try to make time fly? I don’t care how long I look at the clock, I still can’t make time fly. Going to work for these people is like going to jail because they are only trying to do their time so they can leave. They don’t care what happens to their employer’s business. They don’t care that they are “Customer No Service Specialist”. The reality is that these people have convinced themselves that they will never amount to much. Their perception has become their reality.

Then there’s those who criticize and envy those achievers who make things happen. These people sit around and focus their thoughts on how life’s not fair. They give excuse after excuse on why they can’t do this or why they can’t achieve that. These people are the CEO’s of their field. You know, CHIEF EXCUSE OFFICER. Their specialty is CRITICIZING, CONDEMNING, and COMPLAINING about everything and everyone. These people are so busy hating and criticizing others that they don’t have enough time in their day to do anything else. How could anyone expect to achieve anything if all they do is worry about other people’s business? Ladies and gentleman, life is difficult enough as it is. You can’t afford to waste your precious thoughts and your precious time worrying about other people. These people just need to zip their lips and worry about their own lives. Don’t these people know that criticism is just a disguised compliment? Don’t they realize that being jealous and hating others is bad for your health? If you know anyone like this, make sure you avoid them like they are dripping with the swine flu. Remember you are only as good as the company that you keep.

Finally we get to talk about those individuals who consistently make things happen. What’s so special about these achievers? No, they weren’t raised on a four leaf clover farm. No, their parents didn’t feed them Frosted Lucky Charms as a baby. What separates these achievers from the rest of the world is their indomitable will to succeed. These people believed that they were capable of achieving much more than what they had previously achieved. These winners couldn’t handle being ordinary because their obsession in life was to achieve the extraordinary. These achievers believed that success was their only option and they refused to quit until they experienced the success that they desired. These people didn’t fear failure. They only feared not giving it their absolute best.

Look deep inside your soul. Have you really lived up to your true potential? Have you really given your life the effort required to make your dreams come true? Have you really given yourself a fair chance at making your dreams come true? Only you know the answer to that question. Play time is over. Don’t sell your life short. Focus on your hopes, goals, dreams, and desires. Its time to let it all hang out and go for the gold.

Average minds often dismiss the possibility of achieving something beyond their current capabilities. Movers and shakers never let anything get in their way of making their dreams come true. Its time for you to start shaking and baking. Turn up the flame on your burning desire to succeed so you can live the life you have always dreamed of.

Develop Success From Your Failures

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

Some of the greatest achievers of all time have developed massive success from their past failures. Nothing can be more inspiring then the discouraging feeling and utter disappointment that accompany failing. Failing is a major part of life. It always has been, and it always will be. Learning how to use failure as a motivator will determine your future success when dealing with the trials and tribulations that failing often bring.

Thomas Edison’s 10,000 plus failed attempts at inventing electricity gave him the wisdom he needed in order to succeed. If it wasn’t for those failed experiments, he wouldn’t have known what type of filament to use in order to invent electricity. Life will teach you invaluable lessons if you let it. In order to succeed, you must fail so you will know what to do the next time around.

The key is to not let your failure’s get too personal. When you are chilling at your self-hosted loser party, singing the following lyrics, “OH MY GOODNESS, I JUST FAILED BIG TIME. OH NO, WHAT AM I GOING TO DO THIS TIME? MY LIFE IS OVER. I WILL NEVER MAKE IT.” It is precisely in this moment of stripped dignity that you must get a hold of yourself, and summon that SUPER HERO from within you. It is during this time of darkness that champions and achievers are born. It is during this time when you stop feeling sorry for yourself and remember that FAILURE IS JUST AN OUTCOME.

Always remember…… Failure is never permanent. Failure is just an outcome.  If you don’t get the outcome that you desire, you just keep changing your approach until you succeed. My past failures have never stopped me from succeeding and they shouldn’t stop you. If that was the case, we would all be wearing diapers still because none of us would’ve ever made it past the potty training stage. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success. Use your failures as stepping stones and not stumbling blocks and you will be amazed at how high you climb.

Walking Away From a Challenge is Easy

Monday, November 16th, 2009

Life’s Turning Points

Have you ever been in a situation where you had felt absolutely defeated from one of life’s challenging moments? Did you feel the pain of what you were facing just too difficult to endure?  Did you figure that walking away was going to be easier than the pain of keeping on? When people face extreme challenges in life, the easy thing for them to do is walk away and quit. No one likes to face trials and tribulations in life. No one likes to endure pain and suffering if they don’t have to. Difficulties make average people quit when they face life’s turning points.

Walking away from something is usually the easy thing to do? The difficulties and pain that people experience often clouds their judgement. When people are faced with the difficult question of whether they should quit or whether they should proceed, they fail to realize that this could be the turning point of their lives. You see when life is dark, it becomes difficult to see the light. It is during these dark times when stars shine the brightest. People often fail to realize that they are at a turning point in their lives. They fail to realize that their decision could either make their lives or it could break their lives. No one has ever achieved great success in their lives without finding themselves on the verge of walking away and quitting. No one has ever been successful without experiencing the trials and tribulations of failure. It was during these turning points that separates the winners from the losers and the achievers from the failures.

The X Factor

Napoleon Hill said, “One of the most common causes of failure is the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat.”  Failure is only permanent when you have accepted it as permanent. A little more perseverance, a little more determination, and belief in your abilities is what usually separates total failure from the glory of success.

If you are at a turning point in your life, walking away may seem like the easy thing to do. It also might seem like the logical thing to do at the moment because you think that your pain will not last that long. However, walking away doesn’t come for free. Walking away often comes with the scars to your soul that quitting brings. Walking away also brings the everlasting doubt of what could’ve been if you had just persevered a little longer. Napoleon Bonaparte “Victory belongs to the most persevering.” When you find yourself at one of life’s defining moments, think long and hard at what you are about to do because you will have to live with the consequences forever. Quitting something you love, something that you’ve dreamed about will scar you forever.  Remember that pleasure is on the other side of pain. Sometimes the most painful things in your life can end up being the most rewarding things in your life. Quitters never win, and winners never quit. When you face life’s toughest moments, you answer with your unstoppable resolve. You persevere until you succeed because the greatest things in life often come with the cost of your blood, sweat, and tears. Quitting might come with temporary pain, but the scar to your soul will never go away. I thing that I will promise you is that when you do overcome your adversity and succeed, the reward will totally eclipse the pain it cost you to make it happen.

How The Best Became The Best

What is Your Point of Reference?

The majority of the people in this world will settle for mediocrity because they feel like they are already doing good. Their philosophy is “If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.” These people will fail to achieve bigger and better things because they feel like they are already achieving. The million dollar question is, who are they comparing themselves to? What is their point of reference?  Are they comparing themselves to the manager at Burger King? Are they comparing themselves to their unemployed cousin who consistently loses all his jobs because of his sexually harassing behavior? Are they not calling themselves an alcoholic because they only drink a 12 pack of beer a day vs. their friend who drinks 18 beers a day? You are only as good as your point of reference.

Who is Your Inspiration?

The greatest achievers are always inspired by other great achievers. Tiger Woods had a goal of being better than Jack Nicklaus since his childhood days. Tiger had all of Nicklaus’s records posted in his bedroom so he could remind himself of what his lifelong dream was. Tiger is now the greatest golfer who ever lived and he is only 33 years old. Tiger has become the world’s first athlete to make a billion dollars. Michael Phelps inspiration during the 2008 Summer Olympics was to beat Mark Spitz’s Olympic record of seven gold medals. His burning desire to be the greatest swimmer of all time was all the motivation that he needed to win his eight gold medals, breaking a record that many thought would never be broken. Do you think Tiger Woods or Michael Phelps would be the achievers that they are today if they didn’t compare themselves to the best achievers ever? I don’t think so. They are the best because they compared themselves to the best achievers of all time.

You Achieve Greatness by….

Make constant and never-ending improvement your new point of reference. Committing yourself to constant and never ending improvement will allow you to achieve greatness faster than you can imagine. Do whatever it takes on a daily basis to make improvements in your life. Even if the improvements are small, you will still be moving towards greatness instead of sitting still. Because lets face it, if you are not getting better by the day I can assure you that your competition is. Don’t let your competition get better by the day while you are not. Committing to constant and never ending improvement will create a powerful force inside of you that will inspire you to improve in every category of your life. The feeling of constant growth is a sensational feeling so bring it to your life right now. Becoming the best is never easy to achieve but as long as you are willing to pay the price, your reward will far outweigh the sacrifices that you made. Don’t compare yourself to the rest of the world, compare yourself to the best of the world.

Indoctrinate Yourself to Create Mind Power Like The Elite Special Forces

PJ HALO Jump. High Altitude Low Opening

Indoctrinate Yourself to Control Your Thoughts

The United States Air Force has a group of incredibly elite soldiers called “Pararescue Jumpers” that are just an amazing group of individuals. These soldiers are truly a special breed of super humans. The military sends them in under the most unbelievable conditions so that they can recover personnel in humanitarian and hostile combat environments. These one of a kind supermen possess all the combat skills of the elite special forces combined with the life saving skills of a medical doctor. Their job is to save lives during the most hostile combat situations imaginable. They are absolutely amazing at what they do. They are suppose to be able to perform under barrages of bullets and bombs, while they rescue those personnel who’s lives are in extreme danger. They perform miracles when everything seems to be impossible. They save lives when no one expects to even have a chance of survival. Pararescue Jumpers perform their duty so “That Others May Live”.

The Pararescue Code States: It is my duty as a Pararescueman to save life and to aid the injured. I will be prepared at all times to perform my assigned duties quickly and efficiently, placing these duties before personal desires and comforts. These things I do, that others may live. Can you believe that? There motto is “That Others May Live”.

Looking For a Few Good Men

Only the best of the best can try to endure the unthinkable for two years so they can have the honor of calling themselves a Pararescue Jumper or “PJ” as they are often called. You have to survive and complete a two year program called “Superman School”. This is basically two years of torture, I mean two years of training designed to get the PJ’s prepared for their extremely difficult missions. Those achievers who successfully complete “Superman School” are put through two years of incredibly intense physical and mental training that is designed to break the average super human’s will in half. The Air Force enrolls dozens of already successful soldiers, but only the most determined will graduate “Superman School”. Classes to “Superman School” usually have about 60 people in them but sometimes only as few as four to six heroes will graduate. The dropout rate is about 90%, making it the highest training drop-out rate in the entire U.S. military Special Operations community.

Two Years of Torture, I Mean Training

The first 9 weeks of training is the most difficult part of the two year training program that a participant must successfully pass. This 9 week course is called the “Pararescue/Combat Rescue Officer Indoctrination Course”. It is designed to get the average super human to quit so the Air Force can find that one of a kind extraordinary super human that is an unstoppable force. During these 9 weeks, the nastiest of the nasty trainers put participants through extensive physical conditioning consisting of swimming, running, weight training and calisthenics. These trainers go out of their way to make the already impossible training even more impossible by making it harder any way they can. The Indoctrination Course helps prepare students for the extreme rigors of training and the unbelievably extreme demands of the PJ’s lifestyle. When I say extensive physical training, I mean unimaginable extensive physical training designed to make super humans quit. They strive to create an environment so difficult to survive in because they want to get them ready for the impossible missions they are expected to complete on a regular basis. They know that the majority are going to fail. The trainers are not looking for regular super humans, they are looking for the extraordinary super humans that will never quit. I repeat, these guys never quit.

They Indoctrinate You to Never Quit

The Indoctrination Course is designed to make the majority of the participants quit so they can find that rare individual. The trainers try to indoctrinate the belief  that no matter what, you never quit. They constantly remind them that their code is “That Others Will Live”. What is amazing about the “Indoctrination Course” is that it usually isn’t the strongest or the most gifted athletes who pass. As General Eisenhower liked to say, “What counts is not necessarily the size of the dog in the fight, its the size of the fight in the dog.” It is usually the most mentally strong extraordinary super humans that make it. These 4 to 6 extraordinary super humans who pass the “Indoctrination Course” are the ones who bought into the trainers never quit belief system. The trainers indoctrinate the belief that quitting is their choice and their choice only. The indoctrinated few individuals who actually do make it are the ones who believed without a doubt that they would never quit.

How do You Get Someone to Never Quit no Matter What?

You indoctrinate them to believe that quitting is not an option. You indoctrinate them to believe that they have the power to achieve anything they desire. You indoctrinate them to believe that they will be prepared to overcome any challenge that they may face. The extraordinary super humans that bought into the trainers indoctrination process are the ones who developed the mental mind power required to make it through the U.S. military’s most difficult test. These extraordinary few who pass all the courses required to graduate are the ones who never let doubt enter their thoughts. They were indoctrinated to believe that they would never quit.

Doubt Breeds Bigger Doubt

The trainers claim that when they notice a participant entertaining doubt in their abilities, it only ends up breeding more doubt. This doubt causes their physical abilities to rapidly diminish. This doubt magnifies by the thought until it it eventually leads to thoughts of quitting. When they start thinking of quitting, they mentally and physically fall apart until they quit. This mental breakdown is a chain reaction that was triggered by a single negative thought that led to more negative thoughts. These negative thoughts created doubt where doubt was previously non-existent. Limiting thoughts keep growing and they produce mediocre actions that eventually become performance failures. These performance failures end up leading to mental breakdowns. These mental breakdowns always lead to quitting. The failure of these participants was always triggered by negative thoughts and doubts in their abilities.

What Can We Learn From These Extraordinary Super Humans?

Success leaves clues, there is so much we can learn from these extraordinary super humans known as PJ’s. The military has spent millions of dollars and countless hours analyzing what separates the 10% percent that pass from the 90% that fail. They have discovered that mental toughness always trumped physical toughness. It doesn’t matter whether you are an professional athlete, a CEO, a business owner, or a sales professional, it is critical that you indoctrinate yourself to become a mental super hero with unstoppable mind power. It is critical that you indoctrinate yourself to only focus on the most empowering thoughts. Your life will follow your thoughts so develop mental muscle by focusing on positive and empowering thoughts. Never let a limiting thought enter your head. Never let doubt enter your mind. Always believe that you can achieve anything that you desire. Always believe in your abilities to achieve. Develop mind power by believing that failure is not an option for you. Indoctrinate your mind to believe that you will never quit until you succeed. Indoctrinate empowering beliefs that will consistently push you to achieve more. Develop more mind power by always stretching your abilities to achieve outcomes that are beyond your current abilities. Develop the belief that you are an unstoppable force that can manifest any outcome you desire. If you indoctrinate yourself to believe without a doubt that you can achieve anything you desire, you too will become an extraordinary super human that can achieve the impossible. Learn the tactics of the incredible PJ’s to create more mind power than ever.

Their stress acts like a powerful magnet that keeps attracting more stress to their lives creating more problems and more stress. Are you acting like a giant stress magnet?

What Can I do to Deal With my Stress?

I don’t care who you are, how much money you have, what your degree is in, or what mountain you have climbed, you will experience stressful situations, setbacks, disappointments, and failures that are going to present you with some major trials and tribulations. What I care about is whether you choose to respond or whether you choose to react to the situation that you are experiencing. I want you to become a responder to the trials and tribulations of your life. When it comes to life, we can never control the cards we are dealt, but what we can control is how we play with the cards that we are dealt. The best way to handle any problem in your life is by using the 5/95 rule. The 5/95 rule is when you use 5% of your time analyzing the problem and 95% of your time seeking the solution.

Steps to Solve Any Situation

  1. Start off by getting excited about your opportunity to provide a solution. Your attitude towards the situation is critical to your success. Believe that you can find the solution. Having the best attitude will always put you in the best state of mind which is very important when it comes to being a master of solutions. Stay cool, calm, and collected and never forget that you can achieve anything you believe.
  2. Forget about what you could have done. Focus on what you are going to do. No one can change the past, but we all can change our futures.  It is very important that you get the highest and best use of your time when it comes to finding solutions. So forget the past and focus on what you are going to do to find the solution.
  3. Analyzing the situation should only take up about 5% of your time. Find out exactly what the problem is. Situation analysis is critical to your success because if you don’t know exactly what the problem is there is no way to fix it.
  4. Spend 95% of your time seeking the solution. This is your time to shine so step up and find the solution. Don’t be afraid to take a risk. Keep trying different approaches until you succeed. Many people have achieved the unthinkable. There is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to do the same.
  5. Learn from the situation and move on. Don’t keep making the same mistakes. It is imperative that you use every experience in life to make you a better person. Henry Ford said, “Win or learn, there is no failure.”

Great Ways to Dealing With Stress

  • Your beliefs must be empowering – Believing in your abilities to achieve and your abilities to overcome adversity can be very empowering. Your beliefs can empower you to persevere through any challenges. People with weak beliefs are very vulnerable to dealing with stress, so they feel like they can’t control their future.
  • Your attitude and outlook – It is a proven fact that people with optimistic attitudes are more successful in every avenue of their lives. They embrace challenges because they look at it as an opportunity to overcome. They have a great sense of humor. They can deal with change because they recognize that change is a part of life.
  • Learn to control your thoughts and emotions – If you are angry, sad, or afraid, your ability to deal with stress drastically weakens. You must learn how to control your feelings. You control your feelings by controlling your thoughts. Bad thoughts = bad feelings. Great thoughts = great feelings. It is impossible to feel bad when your thoughts are good. You change your emotions by changing the focus of your thoughts. Your life will always follow your thoughts.
  • Your knowledge and preparation – The more you know about a stressful situation, the better your mind will be when it comes to dealing with it. Know things like what to expect, how long it will last, what others in your situation did to overcome.
  • Have fun – Do something that will take your mind off of the stress you are dealing with. Hang out with your family and friends, exercise, travel, shop. Do whatever it takes to have some fun.
  • Helping others – Helping other people who are less fortunate than you is a great stress reliever. Volunteer for a good cause. Mentor someone who is struggling. Anytime you help someone with no strings attached you will find yourself feeling amazing. Zig Ziglar said, “You will get everything you want in your life if you just help others get all of the things that they want.”

How do you measure Greatness in Men and Women?

Monday, February 16th, 2009

How do you measure greatness in individuals? What do they do when the going gets tough? How do they act when things are not going so great? Do they rise to the occasion? Or do they crumble when there is pressure? You truly can measure a person’s character by discovering how much it takes to discourage them. Some people fold with the smallest setbacks, while others can take so much adversity and consistently overcome. Which type of person are you?

If you are the type of person that can easily get discouraged, you need to change that immediately. I am afraid in today’s economy, the people who get easily discouraged are going to have some major problems. You need to get tough, real tough. You need to get ready to overcome any obstacle that comes your way. I have seen some major challenges out there. Yet I have seen people overcome these challenges. How did they do it? They never stopped believing. In these dark days, we are going to see some shining stars. Because just like Martin Luther King said, “Only when it is dark enough can you see the stars.” Now is definitely the time for your star to shine bright.

Do you know how many setbacks I have experienced in my life? Enough for my lifetime and two to three more lifetimes. Yet I have overcome every time. Some setbacks were harder than others. I knew that what didn’t kill me would only make me stronger. I knew that I would never accept failure. I knew that failure was always a chance to begin again with a better approach. I knew that failure was just an outcome. I knew that if I didn’t get the outcome that I was after, all I had to do is change my approach and keep trying until I succeeded. This persistence to achieve made me a lot of money over the years. I learned early on as a 21 year old salesmen that those who could overcome failure easily would go on to make lots of money. If I have been able to overcome my setbacks, so can you. All you have to do is believe in yourself. All you have to do is take total control over your thoughts and actions. All you have to do is overcome no matter what is thrown your way. Are you a believer? Sure you are, now go out there and make it happen. If HoomanCan, I know you can.
