Criticism is a Compliment Disguised

Confucius said, “Don’t complain about the snow on your neighbor’s roof when your own doorstep is unclean.” There is so much criticizing, player hating, and dream stealing going on in this world that it is way beyond ridiculous. If these haters and dream stealers would spend that time on their own lives, instead of worried about other people’s lives, they would be much more happier and more successful. Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain, and most fools do. If you want to make your life extraordinary, stop worrying about other people’s lives and start focusing on your own.

Crash Heard Around The World

Tiger Woods crashed his car on 11/27/09, why the story is still in the news is just astonishing. There is so many real and important issues out there that are getting no attention but If you google “Tiger Woods accident” you will get 17,200,000 search results. I am not a fan of golf, but I am a huge Tiger Woods fan because of his passion for being great and his commitment to constant improvement. I have wrote many times about what makes Tiger so great at what he does. Was I disappointed about what he did? Sure I was, for a moment but I am over it because it isn’t my business. What Tiger does in his personal life is between Tiger and his family. If anything, I like him more now because I have realized that he has flaws just like the rest of the world.

See here how the worst night of my life became the defining moment of my life. I bet this situation becomes the defining moment of Tiger’s life. I bet this causes him to become a much better person. Nelson Mandela said, “Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising every time we fall.” Everyone in life gets knocked down but life only rewards those who get back up.

Focus on You

The quality of your thoughts are going to drastically affect the quality of your life. Focus your thoughts on how you can empower yourself to become a better person. Focus your thoughts on how you can make a difference in the world. Don’t waste a precious thought on criticizing, hating, or dream stealing. Don’t waste your time or energy worried about the setbacks and failures of other people’s lives. FOCUS ON YOURSELF. Focus on your commitment to constant and never ending personal development. Focus on making the rest of your life the best of your life. Next time you catch yourself wanting to say something negative about anyone, consider these words of wisdom from Dale Carnegie…. ANY FOOL CAN CRITICIZE, CONDEMN, AND COMPLAIN BUT IT TAKES CHARACTER AND SELF CONTROL TO BE UNDERSTANDING AND FORGIVING.

Bless those who curse you because the only thing you should do with your critics and haters is turn them into your MOTIVATORS.

Self Destruction or Self Motivation? Pick Your Power

Self Destruction or Self Motivation? Pick Your Power

Self destructive behavior is a tool that many people use as a coping mechanism when things get too difficult to handle. Eating disorders, negative self sabotage, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, self-injury and suicide attempts are just a few of the various forms of self destructive behavior.

This self-punishment is usually a response to a personal failure, which may be real or perceived. If these self destructive behaviors are not dealt with immediately, one can be sure that depression will soon become a problem if it hasn’t already been.

The Poison of Depression

Unless you have tasted the poison of depression, its hard to imagine how nasty it is. I would hear about rich and famous people checking into mental hospitals to deal with depression and I would say to myself, “What in the world could be that wrong in these people’s lives that would cause them to be depressed? These people have it all.” Then after I had the very best year in my life when I had the dream life, the dream girl, the dream home, and all the material things that I ever wanted, I too became depressed. I developed a relationship with depression and it wasn’t fun. I also know that I became depressed because I led myself down that path. I was accountable for my depression.

Its Just a Choice

My depression was one of the best things that ever happened to me. It was during that time that I discovered that all the money in the world doesn’t mean a thing if you are not in total control of your thoughts. Before my depression, I was one of the most motivated people that you would ever meet. After all, it had been my dream to be a motivational speaker since I was 22 years old. However, I let one bad situation lead to some negative thoughts. Those negative thoughts led to more damaging negative thoughts. Negative thinking is like a plague. It spreads so fast its unbelievable. Before I knew it, I had become depressed. Then one day it hit me like a ton of bricks. The only person in the world that could fix my depression was me.

Behavior Modification

Buddha said, “No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.” The decision to take back control over my life was an empowering one. The more positive I thought, the more empowered I became. Before long I was mentally stronger than I had ever been. I was overcoming obstacles and challenges by the day. My empowerment led to more empowerment. I had total control of my life because I was in total control of my thoughts.

Buddha said, “We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.” Negative thoughts lead to a dark and negative life. The greater your thoughts, the greater your life will be. If you catch yourself being negative remind yourself that negative thoughts = bad feelings. Change your thoughts immediately so you can empower yourself. Whether you are self destructive or self motivated it is entirely up to you. Both behaviors are extremely powerful and can truly effect the quality of your life. Its all up to you to take control of your life. What power are you going to choose? Are you going to choose the dark and damaging power of self destruction? Or are you going to choose the empowering force of self motivation?

Below is 8 Steps to Thought Mastery

1. Reset your mind of everything negative in your life. The past must be forgotten because everyday is a new opportunity to make great things happen.

2. Never think anything negative again. It will seem hard at first so if you catch yourself being negative, simply remind yourself that you are conditioning yourself to be a thought master. Think of something empowering to focus on.

3. Focus on the future and all of the great outcomes that you desire. Focus on your empowering belief system that you are currently creating that is going to allow you to achieve all of the future outcomes you desire. The new version of you will be so much better than the old version of you. Keep giving yourself positive affirmations as much as you can.

4. Visualize everything that you want to do in your life. Your actions will come from your visualization as your thoughts become things. Visualize everything as if it is your current reality.

5. Remind yourself that you don’t believe in failure any more. Failure is just a chance for you to begin again more intelligently. Remember, win or learn, there is no failure.

6. Be flexible in your action plan. If you don’t get the results that you desire, be willing to keep trying different solutions until you achieve your desired outcomes.

7. Condition yourself to believe you can achieve anything you desire. Think big because if you set great expectations then you will have great achievements. Don’t limit your abilities with limited thoughts.

8. Be totally aware of your feelings because bad thoughts = bad feelings. Great thoughts = great feelings. You will find everything in your life getting better because of your awesome new attitude towards life.

David vs. Goliath Who Has The Edge? The Person With The Edge In Their Minds.

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

I was watching a sporting event the other day and I started to think about the underdog vs. the favorite mentality. It never surprises me how there is such a thing because life always comes down to your thoughts and actions,  not the thoughts of the critics and spectators. The underdog in this event thought he was unstoppable, no one had convinced him he was the underdog. He believed he could beat anyone at his game because of his preparation, his work ethic, and his mind power to believe he could achieve anything that he desired. Remember, it is not what others believe you can achieve, it is what you believe you can achieve. The favorite in this event went down in a fashion that made this ultimate competitor look like he was the underdog and not the favorite. This underdog was a newcomer to this type of competition and he was going against one of the greatest that the sport had to offer, yet he made this victory look so easy. He silenced all of his critics because there were millions of people who believed that the underdog didn’t even belong on the same stage as his legendary competitor. However, this underdog showed the world that it was the legend who couldn’t compete with him because his thoughts and actions were at the top level and for as long as he put forth the same effort, it would take an unbelievable effort to challenge this champion’s will.

That brings us back to David vs. Goliath, who says you have to be David? Your Critics? If you believe you are at a disadvantage then guess what? You just made a disadvantage for yourself because you believe that you are. You are what you think so if you think that, then there is not a need for you to even show up. You have to believe in your abilities if you want to make greatness happen. I don’t care if it is the sports world or the business world, your thoughts will become your destiny. Are you going to arm yourself with an advantage or a disadvantage? Give yourself the monumental advantage of mind power. With mind power, you can stretch your abilities to achieve what others can only dream of achieving. With mind power, you are positioning yourself for success because your beliefs will be so much stronger than your competitions. With mind power you are harnessing the powerful force within you to empower you to believe you are unstoppable. This is the mentality that I am showing up with at my next competition, what about you?

This is dedicated to all the underdogs in the world who are constantly overcoming the challenges that are in front of them. It is not what the world believes you can do, it is what you believe you can do.

Life Will Test You In The Most Incredible Ways, The Question Is Are You Going To Pass Or Fail?

Sunday, November 9th, 2008

Life has the strangest way of getting your attention. It usually tests you when you least expect it. The key to the quality of your life is based on the grades you get when it gives you the hardest tests. I have had so many ups and downs in my life. I have had so many trials and tribulations but the two things that I have learned, is that the universe is not going to give you anything that you can’t handle and everything happens for a reason. I want you to know that life will test you often, and it will test you hard. Everyone in the world has there challenges. If you know someone who says life is perfect all the time, don’t buy into that fairy tale. However, you can prevail in life no matter what, even in its darkest days. You must learn how to become an expert under fire. You must learn how to handle its most challenging moments. Learn to respond to situations, instead of reacting to situations. You will get so much better results when you respond to situations because you will be operating at your maximum efficiency. When you are reacting to situations, you are too busy losing your cool while trying to face your adversity. This just makes everything so much harder. Why not attempt to overcome adversity with your best foot forward. Responding to challenges will make you better because no matter what happens, you will have the experience and the wisdom to help you overcome this adversity if it ever happens to present itself to you again.

Using The 5/95 Rule To Overcome Your Hardest moments.

Problem solving becomes very easy when you look at it from the right point of view. Problem solving is a critical skill for everyone in the world. The biggest corporations pay the highest amounts of money to people with this ability. Make sure you learn this skill if you are already not a master of solutions because it will drastically improve the quality of your life. Your ability to find solutions will be so important that it may one day save someone’s life. The best way to handle any situation is to use the 5/95 rule. The 5/95 is when you use 5% of your time analyzing the problem and 95% of your time seeking solutions. This method works so well that you will be so amazed by your solution finding abilities. What is done is done. There isn’t a person in the world that can turn back the hands of time. What a person can do is fix the situation. So the next time you get yourself caught up in something sticky, you know that there is always a solution any problem.

Steps To Solve Any Situation

1. Start off by getting excited about your opportunity to provide a solution. Believe that you can find the solution. Stay cool, calm, and collected. It is all about your attitude towards the situation. Having the best attitude will always put you in the best state of mind which is very important when it comes to being a master of solutions. Believe that you can do it.

2. Forget about what you could have done. It is all about what you are going to do. No one can change the past but we all can change our futures. It is very important that you get the highest and best use of your time when it comes to finding solutions.

3. Analyzing the situation should only take up about 5% of your time. This is what I like to call situation analysis. Find out exactly what the problem is. This step is crucial to your success because if you don’t know exactly what the problem is there is no way to fix it.

4. Spend 95% of your time seeking the solution. This is your time to shine so step up and find the solution. Don’t be afraid to take a risk. Keep trying different approaches until you succeed. Many people have achieved the unthinkable. There is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to do the same.

5. Learn from the situation and move on. Don’t keep making the same mistakes. It is imperative that you use every experience in life to make you a better person. “Win or Learn, there is no failure,” Henry Ford.

The bottom line is, no matter what happens in life, look at it in the most positive light. Respond to the situation with your very best state of mind so you position yourself to overcome with your best foot forward.
