Marketing has Never Been so Important

Marketing has never been more important as it is today. Yet so many businesses will fail to market themselves successfully because they don’t understand effective marketing strategies. They might as well eat their marketing dollars because at least they will not starve from not having any business.

Marketing is all about the strategic positioning of your brand. If you haven’t marketed properly, the consumer will not buy your products or services that you sell because they will be buying from your competition who has marketed effectively. They will be doing business with the brands that have created an identity that stands out in their minds. You must create an identity for your brand that stands out from your competition. You must make your marketing so effective that consumers only think of your brand when they think of buying the goods or services that you offer. You must market like Geico does.

Success Leaves Clues

Success leaves so many clues for you to follow that you can market like the best of them. There are so many companies that you can learn effective branding and marketing from. Companies like Apple, Nike, Priceline.com, and one of my personal favorite marketers, Geico. Geico Insurance has got marketing down to a science. With over 9 million clients, they are the fastest growing major insurance company.

During a 2000 creative session, they came up with the Geico Gecko because people would mispronounce Geico all the time with Gecko. Their marketing minds had learned that successful ad campaigns from the past have proven animals create a strong connection between customers and companies. So they came up with that lovable Geico Gecko and the rest is advertisement history. In 2005, the Geico Gecko won an award for America’s favorite ad icon in America. According to the Geico Gecko, “My job is saving people money, I love my job.” Talk about effective marketing, who doesn’t want to save money on their insurance? Whether you like the Gecko or not, you know the Geico Gecko and I am sure you have your favorite Geico Gecko commercial.

So Easy a Cave Man can do it

In 2004, Geico went on to introduce their online insurance website. That is when they introduced to the world their slogan “Geico online, so easy a cave man can do it.” Now everyone in the world are familiar with those hairy disco dancing cave men.

There is so much small businesses can learn from the billion dollar companies that are spending millions on their marketing campaigns. Study the best of the best so you can implement them into your own marketing campaign. You don’t have to spend millions on your marketing to make it effective. You just have to position your marketing to stand out in your clients eyes. Remember, it is so easy a cave man can do it.

Piece Of Eiffel Tower Goes Up For Sale.

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

When you think of Paris, one of the first things that come to your mind is the beautiful monument know as the Eiffel Tower. The tower has become a global icon of France. It is easily of the most recognizable structures in the world.

When you have sold as many luxury homes as I have, you meet a lot of interesting people along the way. People with all kinds of amazing art, antiques, sporting memorabilia, and other interesting and unique artifacts. One of my previous contacts called me today and told me of an amazing find that he just got his hands on. He said, “Hooman, I know you are one of the best sales and marketing experts I have ever met. I need you to do your magic one more time for me.” He told me that he got his hands on a 25 foot section of the Eiffel Tower’s staircase. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I had just heard of a 9 foot section going for $710,000 dollars. He told me there wasn’t a person more connected and more qualified to move this extraordinary piece of history. I told him to count me in because I have never seen a sales challenge that had me scared. I told him that I would sell it for him on one condition, we donate a portion of the proceeds to a charitable organization of the buyer’s choice. He quickly agreed to my proposal, and now it is show time. Watch me sell this historic artifact. Remember ladies and gentleman, You can achieve anything you believe if you believe in your abilities to make things happen.

Eiffel Tower staircase fragment fetches half a million euros

PARIS  – A piece of the original staircase of the Eiffel Tower fetched 553,000 euros (US$710,000), 10 times its estimated price, in a Paris auction on Wednesday.

The 2.7-metre (nine-foot) high chunk, the third of its kind sold in a year, went to private US buyer after a tense battle between him and another interested party who both placed bids by phone, said Sotheby’s auctioneers.

The spiral section was part of the flight leading from the second to the third levels of the tower. It was scaled by Gustav Eiffel himself at the inauguration in 1889, when the lift was not yet in service.

Some descendents of Eiffel were present at Wednesday’s auction.

“What we are selling is a symbol,” said Cecile Verdier of Sotheby’s Paris. “It’s more than an object, it’s a piece of Paris – of the Eiffel Tower and that’s the stuff of dreams.”
