Effective Leadership

Effective leadership and quality communication with the individuals that you work with will either make or break you. This applies to you whether you are a sales team, a creative team of designers, a sports team, co-workers, or a family. If you are not leading the team properly or effectively communicating, you are destined to fail. Follow these steps and you will learn to lead like the greatest leaders of all time. Memorize these 10 steps until you know them by heart.

Remember that by the time that someone gets to you, they have their own attitudes, habits, behaviors, and skills. It is up to the effective leader to change them into the successful individuals that you desire them to be. However, you must only desire the best for them so they can improve their lives, in return improving yours. You must always understand that if you take care of them, they will take care of you.

10 Steps to Effective Leadership

1. You earn respect by giving respect. The key to successful leadership is influence not authority. Don’t criticize, abuse, embarrass, or complain about your team. Point out their mistakes indirectly. Tell them about some of the mistakes you have made in the past. Talk about what you did to overcame them. If you lose someone’s confidence or respect, it may be difficult to get back.

2. Make sure everyone knows exactly what their roles are. Know exactly what you want each individual to do. General Eisenhower said, “Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do what you want done because they want to do it.” Get your team excited to do what you want them to do. The best way to get someone to do something is to get them to want to do it. Effective leaders have been known to have the ability to get people doing what they don’t like doing, as they enjoy doing it.

3. Human beings starve for appreciation. Make each person feel important so you will create loyalty. Acknowledge even the smallest improvements and every time there is an improvement. Know the people on your team well so you know how to inspire them. Every individual is different so what may inspire one, will not inspire the other. Always be sincere with your team. Praise and appreciation may easily have a profound effect on an individual’s entire life.

4. Set their expectations high. Let them know what you expect from them while you encourage them to expect even more from themselves. Tell them on a regular basis that you believe in them and that you have faith in their abilities to achieve.

5. You can develop success from failures. Perfection takes time to achieve. Great leaders shows average achievers to achieve like superior achievers. Work with those individuals that are struggling because training them to be better is easier than starting all over with someone new. Have someone who is achieving mentor them until they are achieving similar results. Great leaders inspire individuals who are performing poorly to do better and help those who are doing great to do even greater.

6. Challenge them daily to achieve more. Inspire them to stretch their abilities to achieve results beyond their current capabilities. Set performance incentives and bonuses.

7. Lead them by example. Great leaders have followers. Lead them instead of pushing them.

8. Great leaders are masters of communication. See things from every individual’s point of view. Be a great listener. Get your team comfortable with talking and voicing their opinion, ideas, and concerns. If their is a problem, you want to immediately take care of it instead of letting the problem get bigger. Never forget to admit to your own mistakes. Never promise anything you can’t deliver.

9. Create a fun and enjoyable but extremely serious workplace. Tell them that when it is work time, it is “SHOW TIME”. You know what they say about “SHOW TIME”, and that is that the show must always go on. Set up after work fun time like parties, gatherings, and picnics. Let them know that this is a serious business and they can enjoy their work but this is also the way they make their living so they must always be serious.

10. Show them your reputation of a person with fine integrity. Give them an awesome reputation to emulate.

Barack Obama & John Mccain Are Two Men Who Are Equally Amazing As Americans.

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

I want to start off by congratulating both of these men for being great American leaders. I just heard John Mccain address the nation and what a man he is. He is truly a great leader and always has been. When John Mccain was given the chance to leave the prison in Vietnam because of a propaganda stunt, he refused to leave. He said that there were other prisoners who deserved to go before him. He stayed as a Vietnam prisoner of war for a total of seven years. His duty is and always has been to his country. He congratulated his opponent Barack Obama, so graciously in defeat that I even have more respect for him than I ever had. John Mccain, you are a true American hero, I want to personally thank you for all the service you have given this country.

Tonight, Is Barack Obama’s Night.

Barack Obama is going to be the first black president of the United States of America. He will always be remembered for that amazing accomplishment. He has given every American hope, that anything is possible if you believe. I believe in  the change Barack Obama has promised us. His unbelievable ability to speak, has truly been an inspiring example for all of us to appreciate. I am so excited to be an American today, because Barack Obama has showed each and every person that anything is possible, if you believe in change.

Tomorrow Is A New Day For All Americans.

Americans, it is time for us to reach across political party lines and unite as a country, so we can make this nation better than ever. It is our responsibility to start the change that we desire, from within ourselves. Each and every one of us is responsible for our own change. Once we start to change, then we are leading by example to make our world a better place. Once again, I would like to congratulate both of these men on an inspiring election. You are both amazing. Lets make America more amazing than ever by following these two awesome leaders example. If you believe in change, then your change will happen.

Characteristics Of A Leader, How Do You Compare?

Friday, September 12th, 2008

Leaders that inspire their followers to stretch their abilities to achieve at the highest levels possible are very hard to find. Tom Brady, the young leader of the New England Patriots, may go down as one of the best quarterbacks who ever played football. He was the 199th pick in the NFL draft. At 31, Brady has won three super bowl rings. He is one of the best leaders I have ever seen because he never had that good of a team around him yet he elevated his teammates play to achieve above their highest expectations. You would expect that from a veteran but when Tom Brady became the second year quarterback who led his team to a super bowl championship, he was the talk of sports. Quarterback in the NFL is a very difficult position, when Brady was given a chance to play because of an injury to the starting quarterback, he led his team to a championship. Wow, he went from being the 199th pick to the best quarterback in the league. He elevated his game to level where he had never been. He was not always that good so that only means that anyone can step up their abilities and take their game to higher levels. It is all about your mind power. Take control of your thoughts and actions so you can have the highest levels of success.

What Characteristics Do Leaders Have That Makes Them Stand Out?

Leaders are different than your average followers. They have a special ability to lead by example instead of waiting to follow. Leaders are inspirational to their followers by motivating them to bring out the best of their abilities. They have a definite purpose which they have committed their focus to achieving their desired outcomes. Leaders are dedicated to achieving their desired outcomes by focusing their efforts to manifestation. They specialize in bringing their followers together to accomplish great outcomes as a team. They have very optimistic attitudes giving them an ability to encourage and develop their followers so they experience constant and never ending improvement. They lead by example directing every action to achieving their desired outcomes. Leaders understand how to analyze a situation so they can implement an action plan that gives them the greatest results possible. Step up and take charge of your team so you can lead them to places they have never been. You can do it if you believe in your ability to manifest your dreams.
