Candy Goals Are Good For You
Tuesday, April 27th, 2010Goals are like candy.
To say I loved candy would be a gross misrepresentation of the facts. I have eaten enough candy for about 6 lifetimes. Sometimes I would over fill my mouth with so many pieces so I could get an overload of that candy taste. I am sure that obsession to candy helped me get into the worst shape of my life. I had another obsession I want to tell you about. That obsession was achieving goals. I couldn’t get enough of that amazing feeling that follows triumph and victory. If I set my mind to doing something, you could consider it done because I was not going to rest, until I pulled it off.
Settle, FOR WHAT?
I kept pushing myself to achieve more and more because the high from achieving my desired goal would only last so long. I couldn’t get enough. Like an addict, I needed to get more of my fix. This obsession was a good thing because it always pushed me to seek new challenges. At times I didn’t even possess the skills or the knowledge required to achieve my desired goals. I didn’t let that stop me. I knew that for years, people had been stretching their abilities to achieve results beyond their current capabilities. If they could do it, I knew I could do it.
Candy Goals
My obsession to goals was very similar to my obsession to candy. I had my favorite kind of candy, but that didn’t keep me from eating the different kinds. Just like there is all kinds of candy, there’s all kinds of goals. Here is a brief list of the different kinds of goals you can accomplish.
Daily Goals Career Goals
Monthly Goals Relationship Goals
6 Month Goals Personal Goals
Yearly Goals Parenting Goals
Lifetime Goals Health Goals
5 Year Goals Financial Goals
10 Year Goals Social Goals
20 Year Goals Traveling Goals
The reason I wanted to point out to you the various types of goals is to remind you that there are countless opportunities for you to improve your life on a daily basis. You must commit your life to constant and never ending improvement in every aspect of your life. Even small daily gains lead to drastic improvements over time. Whether its a small goal or a big goal you accomplish, the fact that you are achieving your goals will only cultivate you more success because you will be creating goal momentum in your life. Success brings more success. When I knock out one goal, I look for the next one and then its on to the next one.
Your Turn to Become The Candy Goal Monster
If you don’t have goals in your life, you don’t have a clear path. Without a clear path, who knows where you will end up. If you want to go through your life without a clear destination, go right ahead and take yourself to no man’s land. If you want to go to the promise land of Abundance Mountain, you need to know what your destination is, and you need a sound strategy on how you plan on getting there. Reset your mind of any negative thoughts or limiting beliefs that you may have. Focus your thoughts on the results that you desire and chase it with the fierce URGENCY OF NOW. Make a concrete commitment that you will do whatever it takes until you get there. Make sure you use any failure you experience as a stepping stone and not a stumbling block. Don’t ever listen to what a spirit sniper or a dream stealer says you can’t do. It only matters what you believe you can do.
Now is the time for you to become a goal slayer. Act like you are the CANDY GOAL MONSTER. You need to munch on goals like I used to munch on candy. You need to make winning your obsession.
Just remember, just like you climb Mount Everest one step at a time, you eat a giant candy goal one bite at a time. You can achieve anything you believe with power and control over your thoughts and actions. Take your passion and make it happen.
