The Process of Empowerment

The Process of Empowerment

Empowerment gives individuals the power and confidence to take control of their lives. It gives them a sense of authority over their abilities. When an individual is empowered, they are driven by an internal source of power from within them. Everyone is created equal, everyone already has the power inside of them to achieve any result that they desire. The difference between the empowered and the disempowered are the quality of their thoughts and beliefs. It is up to each and every individual to unleash the power inside of them.

Buddha said, “The mind is everything. What we think we become.” When we focus on positive and inspiring thoughts we empower ourselves. When we focus on negative and demoralizing thoughts we disempower ourselves. All outcomes and experiences in our lives are a direct result of our dominant mental thoughts. We become what we think so that is why its imperative that we only focus on the most empowering thoughts and beliefs. The more empowering that our thoughts and beliefs are, the more empowered we will be as an individual.

Power takes time to develop. You can instantly empower yourself by focusing on empowering thoughts. To become a super powerful person, you want to consistently develop your power daily. The best ways to develop your power daily is by developing empowering beliefs and asking yourself empowering questions. Here is a list of empower beliefs you should condition yourself to believe and a list of empowering questions you can communicate to yourself on a daily basis so you can become more empowered by the day.

Empowering Beliefs

1. I can achieve anything I believe.

2. I don’t believe in failures, I only believe in outcomes. If I don’t get the outcomes that I desire, I will keep changing my approach until I achieve the results that I desire.

3. Stretching my abilities will allow me to  achieve results beyond my current capabilities.

4. I am the creator of my future. I can make my life as extraordinary as I desire.

5. With power and control over my thoughts and actions I can achieve the greatest outcomes of my life.

Empowering Questions

1. What actions can I take today that will get me closer to making my dreams come true.

2. What can I do to overcome the challenges in front of me?

3. What can I do to make myself a better person?

4. What can I do to make myself more successful?

5. What can I do to become a healthier person?

6. What can I do to become a better parent/friend/partner?

7. What can I do to make myself feel better than ever?

8. What can I do to become smarter by the day?

9. What can I do to help the lives of others?

10. What can I do to make a difference in the world?

These are just an example of my beliefs and an example of my empowering questions. There are so many more that you can add to this list. The more empowered your beliefs, the more empowered you will be. The more empowering questions you ask yourself, the more empowered you will be. Focus on your process of empowerment so you can consistently grow by the day. Take your passion and make it happen now.

Dealing With Stress The Easy Way

Monday, August 24th, 2009

Are You a Stress Magnet?

People all over America are experiencing extremely high levels of stress. Major life changes, work problems, relationship difficulties, financial problems, family problems, and hectic schedules are just some of the common causes of stress. Stress can cause all kinds of health and emotional problems. The more you focus on your stress, the more it breaks you down. The more it breaks you down, the more it effects every part of your life. People who are really stressed out usually don’t know how to deal with their stress so it just gets worse for them. Their stress acts like a powerful magnet that keeps attracting more stress to their lives creating more problems and more stress. Are you acting like a giant stress magnet?

These Are Some of  The Common Problems Associated With Stress:

  • Pain
  • Heart disease
  • Depression
  • Sleep Problems
  • Digestive Problems
  • Obesity
  • Autoimmune diseases

Top Ten Stressful Life Events According to The  Holmes-Rahe Life Stress Inventory

  1. Spouse’s
  2. Divorce
  3. Marriage separation
  4. Jail term
  5. Death of a close relative
  6. Injury or illness
  7. Marriage
  8. Fired from job
  9. Marriage reconciliation
  10. Retirement

What Can I do to Deal With my Stress?

I don’t care who you are, how much money you have, what your degree is in, or what mountain you have climbed, you will experience stressful situations, setbacks, disappointments, and failures that are going to present you with some major trials and tribulations. What I care about is whether you choose to respond or whether you choose to react to the situation that you are experiencing. I want you to become a responder to the trials and tribulations of your life. When it comes to life, we can never control the cards we are dealt, but what we can control is how we play with the cards that we are dealt. The best way to handle any problem in your life is by using the 5/95 rule. The 5/95 rule is when you use 5% of your time analyzing the problem and 95% of your time seeking the solution.

Steps to Solve Any Situation

  1. Start off by getting excited about your opportunity to provide a solution. Your attitude towards the situation is critical to your success. Believe that you can find the solution. Having the best attitude will always put you in the best state of mind which is very important when it comes to being a master of solutions. Stay cool, calm, and collected and never forget that you can achieve anything you believe.
  2. Forget about what you could have done. Focus on what you are going to do. No one can change the past, but we all can change our futures.  It is very important that you get the highest and best use of your time when it comes to finding solutions. So forget the past and focus on what you are going to do to find the solution.
  3. Analyzing the situation should only take up about 5% of your time. Find out exactly what the problem is. Situation analysis is critical to your success because if you don’t know exactly what the problem is there is no way to fix it.
  4. Spend 95% of your time seeking the solution. This is your time to shine so step up and find the solution. Don’t be afraid to take a risk. Keep trying different approaches until you succeed. Many people have achieved the unthinkable. There is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to do the same.
  5. Learn from the situation and move on. Don’t keep making the same mistakes. It is imperative that you use every experience in life to make you a better person. Henry Ford said, “Win or learn, there is no failure.”

Great Ways to Dealing With Stress

  • Your beliefs must be empowering – Believing in your abilities to achieve and your abilities to overcome adversity can be very empowering. Your beliefs can empower you to persevere through any challenges. People with weak beliefs are very vulnerable to dealing with stress, so they feel like they can’t control their future.
  • Your attitude and outlook – It is a proven fact that people with optimistic attitudes are more successful in every avenue of their lives. They embrace challenges because they look at it as an opportunity to overcome. They have a great sense of humor. They can deal with change because they recognize that change is a part of life.
  • Learn to control your thoughts and emotions – If you are angry, sad, or afraid, your ability to deal with stress drastically weakens. You must learn how to control your feelings. You control your feelings by controlling your thoughts. Bad thoughts = bad feelings. Great thoughts = great feelings. It is impossible to feel bad when your thoughts are good. You change your emotions by changing the focus of your thoughts. Your life will always follow your thoughts.
  • Your knowledge and preparation – The more you know about a stressful situation, the better your mind will be when it comes to dealing with it. Know things like what to expect, how long it will last, what others in your situation did to overcome.
  • Have fun – Do something that will take your mind off of the stress you are dealing with. Hang out with your family and friends, exercise, travel, shop. Do whatever it takes to have some fun.
  • Helping others – Helping other people who are less fortunate than you is a great stress reliever. Volunteer for a good cause. Mentor someone who is struggling. Anytime you help someone with no strings attached you will find yourself feeling amazing. Zig Ziglar said, “You will get everything you want in your life if you just help others get all of the things that they want.”

10 Steps to Being an Effective Leader

Friday, August 21st, 2009

Effective Leadership

Effective leadership and quality communication with the individuals that you work with will either make or break you. This applies to you whether you are a sales team, a creative team of designers, a sports team, co-workers, or a family. If you are not leading the team properly or effectively communicating, you are destined to fail. Follow these steps and you will learn to lead like the greatest leaders of all time. Memorize these 10 steps until you know them by heart.

Remember that by the time that someone gets to you, they have their own attitudes, habits, behaviors, and skills. It is up to the effective leader to change them into the successful individuals that you desire them to be. However, you must only desire the best for them so they can improve their lives, in return improving yours. You must always understand that if you take care of them, they will take care of you.

10 Steps to Effective Leadership

1. You earn respect by giving respect. The key to successful leadership is influence not authority. Don’t criticize, abuse, embarrass, or complain about your team. Point out their mistakes indirectly. Tell them about some of the mistakes you have made in the past. Talk about what you did to overcame them. If you lose someone’s confidence or respect, it may be difficult to get back.

2. Make sure everyone knows exactly what their roles are. Know exactly what you want each individual to do. General Eisenhower said, “Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do what you want done because they want to do it.” Get your team excited to do what you want them to do. The best way to get someone to do something is to get them to want to do it. Effective leaders have been known to have the ability to get people doing what they don’t like doing, as they enjoy doing it.

3. Human beings starve for appreciation. Make each person feel important so you will create loyalty. Acknowledge even the smallest improvements and every time there is an improvement. Know the people on your team well so you know how to inspire them. Every individual is different so what may inspire one, will not inspire the other. Always be sincere with your team. Praise and appreciation may easily have a profound effect on an individual’s entire life.

4. Set their expectations high. Let them know what you expect from them while you encourage them to expect even more from themselves. Tell them on a regular basis that you believe in them and that you have faith in their abilities to achieve.

5. You can develop success from failures. Perfection takes time to achieve. Great leaders shows average achievers to achieve like superior achievers. Work with those individuals that are struggling because training them to be better is easier than starting all over with someone new. Have someone who is achieving mentor them until they are achieving similar results. Great leaders inspire individuals who are performing poorly to do better and help those who are doing great to do even greater.

6. Challenge them daily to achieve more. Inspire them to stretch their abilities to achieve results beyond their current capabilities. Set performance incentives and bonuses.

7. Lead them by example. Great leaders have followers. Lead them instead of pushing them.

8. Great leaders are masters of communication. See things from every individual’s point of view. Be a great listener. Get your team comfortable with talking and voicing their opinion, ideas, and concerns. If their is a problem, you want to immediately take care of it instead of letting the problem get bigger. Never forget to admit to your own mistakes. Never promise anything you can’t deliver.

9. Create a fun and enjoyable but extremely serious workplace. Tell them that when it is work time, it is “SHOW TIME”. You know what they say about “SHOW TIME”, and that is that the show must always go on. Set up after work fun time like parties, gatherings, and picnics. Let them know that this is a serious business and they can enjoy their work but this is also the way they make their living so they must always be serious.

10. Show them your reputation of a person with fine integrity. Give them an awesome reputation to emulate.

Underdog Slays the Tiger. The Impossible was Made Possible

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

I love writing about Tiger Woods because he has been so great to watch over the years. There is so much to learn from Tiger Woods when it comes to success. He is so dedicated to his craft putting more practice hours in than his competitors. He is so mentally strong that it is just inspiring to watch. Tiger believes he can elevate his game at anytime to beat anyone at anytime. He doesn’t compete against other golfers in the field, he competes against history. His lifelong dream has been to surpass Jack Nicklaus’s 18 major championship victories. Tiger has won 14 of them already so he is very close to achieving his lifelong dream. He was the odds on favorite to win number 15 on Sunday when he was in the lead entering the final round of play. Tiger has never lost a major championship when holding or sharing the lead entering the final day of competition. He has been in that position 14 times and he has won 14 times. Lets just say Tiger is the man when it comes to closing out his competition. Other players just crack under pressure when they face Tiger on the final day. Its almost like he is an unbeatable GOLIATH. The PGA tournament officials were just about to male the trophy to Tiger’s trophy vault. Then comes the underdog of all underdogs.

An unknown 37 year old golfer named Y.E. Yang came out of nowhere to slay  the almighty Tiger while earning his first major championship victory by accomplishing what no other player of this generation had before him. Yang not only came from behind to defeat him, he did it while going head-to-head with him in the last pairing. Yang triumphed over the game’s top player in a way that had never occurred before. Yang made the impossible, possible. I repeat Yang, made the impossible, possible.

“I’ve sort of visualized this quite a few times playing against the best player in the history of golf, playing with him in the final round in a major championship, always sort of dreamed about this,” Yang said Sunday. “I’ve seen throughout Tiger’s career that a lot of players have folded probably on the last day when playing with him.

“So when I was at home or at a tournament watching Tiger in the clubhouse, I’d usually try to visualize and try to bring up a mock strategy how to win, if I ever played against Tiger.”

Yang, whose best finish in a major prior to Sunday was a tie for 30th at the 2007 Masters. Yang managed to keep the heat on Tiger. Yang was armed with the belief in his abilities and he obviously arrived with the perfect attitude to accomplish the goal.

Opportunities don’t go away, they just go to someone else. That someone else was Yang. No one told him that he couldn’t achieve the victory. No one told him that he couldn’t raise the trophy over his head while defeating Tiger. Besides, even if they did, I doubt he would have bought into it. It doesn’t matter what others believe you can achieve, it only matters what you believe you can achieve. You are only an underdog if you believe you are an underdog. Anything can happen on any given day if you believe in your abilities to make it happen. So many great players have tried to achieve what Yang accomplished, only to fail. I believed that these players have consistently failed to defeat Tiger because they defeat themselves mentally before they even try. I can’t stress enough that the greatest battle you will ever fight is the battle in your  mind. Are you a believer or a non-believer? Are you going to be an achiever or a non-achiever? Your life is entirely up to you. The million dollar question is, “What life are you going to create for yourself?”

The next time you face an incredibly difficult challenge in your life, in your work, or in your relationships you must step up to the challenge. You must rise to the occasion and overcome any obstacle that is in your path. Think that the impossible is possible. Believe without a doubt that you can achieve anything you desire. You are the master of your destiny. You are the creator of your future. Make your dreams come true by achieving the greatness that you desire. Why not you? Why not now? If Y.E. Yang can come out of nowhere to accomplish the impossible than so can you. Its up to you now, its up to you.

Failing Will Make or Break you

Friday, August 14th, 2009

Jim Rohn said, “Failure is not a single, cataclysmic event. You don’t fail overnight. Instead, failure is a few errors in judgement, repeated every day.” Therefore it is critical that you learn how to deal with failure. If you look at failure in a positive perspective instead of a negative one, you will definitely grow from any failure you experience in your life. Henry Ford said, “Win or learn, there is no failure.” Everyone in life will experience some kind of failure. If you don’t experience failure then you probably are not pushing yourself hard enough. When you happen to fail in life, embrace your failure as an opportunity to grow and get better. If you don’t embrace it as an opportunity to get better than you are destined to keep making the same mistakes. If you keep making the same mistakes and you expect a different outcome then you are insane according to Albert Einstein.

Analyze your failures and see what you can do different so you can achieve the outcomes that you desire. Usually the difference in failure and success is minimal. Discover what you are doing wrong and try something different so you can keep trying to achieve the results that you desire. If you continue to fail then keep changing your approach until you succeed. Thomas Edison, said, “Many of life’s failures are experienced by people who didn’t realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” Thomas Edison failed over 10,000 times until he succeeded when he was trying to invent electricity. He said, that he had no choice but to succeed because he was running out of options. That is the dedication that you need to have when you are trying to achieve great success.

Dale Carnegie said, “Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by the people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.” Failure is always overcome by persistence. Never give up the fight until you achieve the success that you desire. Failure only becomes permanent when you accept it as your final outcome. Those who achieve the greatest success were those individuals that refused to quit when they were chasing their dreams. You must refuse to quit if you experience any failure or setback. Everyone in life gets knocked down, but life only rewards those who get back up. Difficulties strengthen the soul, look at the positive side of your pain. What doesn’t break you will make you. Believe in your abilities to achieve and go out there and make it happen.

9 Steps to Success

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

Here are 9 steps to success that will have you achieving the greatest success of your life. I hope they work for you as well as they have worked for me.

1. Know exactly what you want your desired outcome to be.  Be very specific when you are stating your goals. Know exactly what it will take to achieve your desired success and write down an action plan for achieving it. Write down what actions you will have to take on a daily basis to achieve the success that you desire.

2. Be flexible in your approach. If you don’t get your desired outcome you must keep changing your approach until you succeed. Remember failure is not an option so never give up.  Henry Ford said, “Win or learn, there is no failure.” Nothing extraordinary has ever been accomplished without experiencing some failures and setbacks along the way. The most successful people in the world don’t believe in failure and neither should you. When faced with adversity, its critical that you believe that you can overcome anything that comes across your path.

3. Success leaves clues so model those achievers who have already achieved the success that you desire. You must duplicate their beliefs, their actions, and any other competitive edge that they use to be successful. The best are the best for a reason. Never forget that success leaves clues, it always has and it always will so model the top achievers so you  can duplicate their success.

4. You must understand that you are the master of your destiny. Focus on the future and never look back. You can’t change the past but what you can change is your future. You are in total control of your destiny so take charge and make the success that you desire happen. If you ever catch yourself losing focus just quickly take control and focus on achieving the success that you desire. You already have the power inside of you to achieve anything you desire. Unleash that power from within so you can manifest your destiny.

5. You must dedicate yourself to constant and never ending improvement. Everyday you should try to make yourself better than the day before. Stretch your abilities to achieve results outside of your current capabilities. If your personal development is not getting better on a daily basis you are only hurting yourself. The most successful people of all time were constantly improving their abilities to achieve so they could out perform their competition. Read as many personal development books as you can. Get an Ipod and load it up with motivation so you can inspire yourself whenever you get a chance. Focus on getting better by the day.

6. Success never comes easy so expect challenges along the way. Look forward to challenges as an opportunity to better yourself and learn. You know its a challenge so challenge it with your best. Its only impossible if you think it is. You can achieve anything you believe. Henry Ford said, “Whether you believe you can or whether you believe you can’t, you are right.” Believe that you can achieve anything you desire.

7. Your attitude is everything. Condition your attitude to be enthusiastic, persistent, and be determined to succeed. It is a proven fact that people with a positive mental attitude experience more success in every avenue of their lives.

8. Expect criticism from dream stealers and non-believers. They will try to discourage you if you give them the opportunity. Stay away from negative people at all cost. Remember criticism is a disguised compliment so don’t let it get to you. Use it as inspirational fuel to make your burning desire to succeed stronger than ever.

9. Become a master of your thoughts. Your life will follow your thoughts so it is critical you consistently focus on the most empowering thoughts. Power and control over your thoughts and actions will have you achieving the greatest outcomes of your life. Buddha said, “We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.” Elevate your life by elevating your thoughts. Your life will follow your dominant mental thoughts so consistently focus on the success that you desire. Use incredible thoughts to manifest your incredible life. All outcomes and experiences are a direct result of our dominant mental thoughts. If you think it, and believe it, then you will see it because your thoughts will become your reality.
