Optimistic People are More Successful

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

There was a twenty two year study about optimism conducted by Martin Seligman at the University of Pennsylvania called “Learned Optimism” where he determined that optimism is the most important quality you can develop for personal and professional success and happiness. Optimistic people seem to be more effective in almost every area of life.

Optimist have four special behaviors that are all learned through practice and repetition.

Optimists look for the good in every situation. No matter what goes wrong, they always, they always look for something good or beneficial. The interesting thing is that they always seem to find it.

Optimists always seek the valuable lesson in every setback or difficulty. They believe that difficulties come not to obstruct but to instruct. They believe that each setback or obstacle contains a valuable lesson they can learn and grow from, and they are determined to find it.

Optimists always look for the solution to every problem. Instead of blaming or complaining when things go wrong, they become action oriented. They ask questions like “What’s the solution? What can we do now? What’s the next step?”

Optimists think and talk continually about their goals. They think about what they want and how to get it. They think and talk about the future and where they are going rather than the past and where they came from. They are always looking forward rather than backward.

The bottom line is that it is a proven fact that optimistic people have a much better quality of life in their personal and professional lives. They are happier than the average person and they are use to finding solutions to the challenges that they face. If you are not an optimistic person already, I highly recommend that you urgently work at developing a positive mental attitude because the rewards are incredibly life changing.
Here is a great link to check out about how you can obtain a positive mental attitude.

What Does Your World Look Like?

What Your World Looks Like Depends on Your Vision

Does your world look absolutely incredible? Do you almost overdose from your intoxicating natural high because you love everything you see in your life?  Or does your world look like a natural disaster? Is your world so bad that you are a cyclone of doom and gloom? What your world looks like will depend entirely on your vision and your outlook.

Your Vision and Outlook is Everything

If your vision is correct and your outlook for the future is right, your life will only get better by the day. You will always see the opportunity in every challenge. With the right vision and outlook, you will be prepared for anything that life throws at you. Even if life throws you a natural disaster, if you have the right vision and outlook, you will always prevail no matter how dark it gets. You will always rise to the occasion and make the best of every situation. You will not break down when the going gets tough. You will get extra, extra tough because you will know that you can make it through anything. You will always believe in your abilities to achieve anything you desire. You will always be a go-getter, you will be what I like to call a “Life Champion”. It all comes down to what you want for yourself? You get to chose what side of life you want to see.

What Side of Life Have you Been Seeing Lately?

If you are not a “Life Champion” there is still hope for you. There is always hope for anyone who wants a better life. There is always hope for anyone who believes that they deserve the very best. It all comes down to what you want for you. Do you want the very best in your life? Do you want the best for your family? Then you have to decide today which way you are going to live for the rest of your life. You have to decide right now which way you want to see the world. Remember in order to see things in your life, first you have to think it, then you have to believe it, and then you will see it. I have seen life from both points of view. I have seen rock bottom and I have seen the promise land of happiness and success. I know which one I want. I am assuming you want the good life too, so make sure you commit yourself to constant and never ending improvement. Make sure to always have the right vision and outlook for your life. If Hooman can, I know you can.
