Creating Value for Your Clients. These 3 Steps Will Always Lead to More Profit.
Tuesday, April 14th, 2009An excellent way for businesses to outperform their competitors is by creating as much value for their clients as possible. People always want the best product for the least amount of money. They don’t mind paying more for it if they feel like they are getting their moneys worth.
Businesses that create the most value for their clients will most likely be profitable in any economic condition. Creating more value than your competitors will not only attract more clients to your business, but it will also get you more referral opportunities from your happy clients. Being known as the business that offers the best products or services for the least amount of money is a great reputation for any business to have.
By creating more value for your clients, you will give them the feeling that they got an incredible deal. There have been times in the past when I had paid double for a product because I thought it was a better deal based on my perceived value of the product.
Henry Ford said, “The man who will use his skill and constructive imagination to see how much he can give for a dollar, instead of how little he can give for a dollar, is bound to succeed.” Don’t think of how little you can offer your clients and get away with it. Think about how much more you can offer your clients.
Here are a 3 steps to creating more value for your clients.
1. If you don’t take care of your clients, someone else will. Make it your goal to be known as the business that offers their clients the best service available. You don’t want to do business with them just once. You want to do business with them for many years to come. The cheapest way of earning new business is by doing more business with the people that you have done business with in the past. Make sure you create a high level of expectation for your clients so that when you exceed this expectation, you are continuing to impress them as the place that offers the best service. Most businesses will forget about their clients after the sale. For a business that offers incredible service to their clients, it is the beginning of their business relationship. When you take care of your clients, they will take care of you by sending you referrals.
2. Build brand loyalty by guaranteeing your product. If you have clients who are not satisfied, don’t let them leave your business until they are. Good news travels fast, but bad news travels faster. You don’t want any unhappy clients running around your community. I used to call my clients my sales force because they were so happy with my past performances for them that they would constantly be searching for potential referrals to give me. It almost seemed like it was their obligation to send me referrals. However, I had earned the right to be trusted with their referrals. Remember, you are their to cater to your clients highest expectations.
3. Make sure that you constantly keep in contact with your clients. Don’t wait for them to call you. Make sure you call them on a regular basis to make sure everything is okay with their purchase. If there is something wrong, you have an opportunity to fix it for them. All this does is reinforce their decision to do business with you. It will also give you an opportunity to keep them informed of your latest products. If they are happy clients, they will usually upgrade their purchase or buy some of your other products. Make sure they understand how to get the highest and best use from your product. Do you know how many people buy products that are so complicated, that they have no idea how to get the most use from them? If your clients don’t know how to use their products, how do you expect them to be happy with their purchase. How do you expect them to feel good about the value of their purchase if they are not benefitting from all of its benefits. People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. Show them that you are dedicated to providing them outstanding service for many years to come. Make your clients feel that they are your clients for life.
There are many other ways to create more value for your products. The more value that you create, the better of a deal your clients will feel like they got. Even if your product is double the price of your competitors, if you can create enough value in your clients eyes, you will never have a problem earning their business while you outperform your competitors with ease.
