You’re a hard Habit to Break. 7 Steps to Overcome your bad Habits.

Monday, February 9th, 2009

Do you have a habit that is holding you back from achieving the success that you desire? Do you have a bad habit that you do that is stopping you from reaching your true potential? Many people all over the world have bad habits, myself included. Some bad habits could interfere with your career, some bad habits can lead you to an early death. Other bad habits can destroy your relationships. I am a recovering gambler, its been about ten years now since I have stopped. I can’t tell you how much pain and suffering I caused myself and my loved ones. I am sure it would have destroyed me if I didn’t stop. I definitely wouldn’t be here writing this today if I had not stopped gambling.

What is your bad habit? Are you a procrastinator? Are you a negative thinker? Do you smoke cigarettes? If you have a bad habit, break it. You can only do this when you decide that your bad habit is getting in the way of your life. You can only decide this when you realize that enough is enough. You must stop your bad habit no matter what. Remember some bad habits can kill you. The problem is that many people with these bad habits will not accept that they have a problem. They don’t want to accept that they have something that they need to change. They need to accept responsibility for their own actions. Accepting this responsibility is so hard for so many people. They usually will not wake up and smell the coffee until they have put themselves into a desperate situation, but sometimes it is too late. Don’t let your habits prevent you from living the life that you have always dreamed of. Live your life free of these limiting habits. If I have overcome my gambling addiction, you can overcome any of your bad habits. You just have to decide that enough is enough. Here are 7 steps to overcome your bad habits.

1. Identify the problem. This is the most important thing one can do. If you are in denial, how can you possibly change? Clearly identify what is your problem is.

2. Associate the pain that this habit is causing you. List all the negatives that this bad habit is bringing to your life. List how this habit is hurting you. List all of the people you are hurting. List how you are hurting them.

3. List what this habit has prevented you from achieving.

4. Identify how your life could be better if you would eliminate this habit from your life.

5. What is your game plan to overcome this habit? What are you going to do to fight your urges?

6. Clearly state what will happen to you if you don’t fix this habit.

7. Identify a reward for yourself when you do overcome your bad habit. Make it something that will be big enough to keep you focused. It doesn’t have to be a new purchase. It could be your new health. What could possibly be a bigger reward then an extended life?

Whether you are the type of person that is motivated by the fear of avoiding pain? Or whether you are the type of person that is motivated by pleasure, your bad habits must be broken. Utilize these steps that I have used in the past to help me overcome any of my bad habits. If HoomanCan, I know you CAN. Make it happen now. Don’t take the tranquilizing drug of procrastination. Now is the time to become a better version of you.

State of Mind is Everything…. Where is your State of Mind Taking you?

State of mind is Everything

What state of mind do you live in? How are your thoughts affecting your daily life? Are you living in the state of denial? Or are you living in the land of empowerment? What do you think is the difference between a champion and a chump? What makes one person so special and what makes another person so sorry? The answer is very simple, its your state of mind.

Your state of mind is everything. It affects your energy, it affects the way you think, it affects the way you communicate with the world. Most importantly it affects every aspect of your life. All experiences and outcomes in our lives are a direct result of the way we have been thinking.

You need to consistently think about the most empowering thoughts. You need to condition your mind to draw on the awesome force that is inside of you. Mind power is everything. Dedicate yourself to strengthening your mind power by the day.

Do you remember when you achieved something special in your life and you felt awesome? It was a great feeling right? Remember your mindset then? You need to bottle that mindset. What I want you to do is condition your mind to think in that peak state of mind every moment of everyday. The power you will have when you know that you are an unstoppable force is sensational. It will empower you like nothing else can. It will drive you like nothing else can. Knowing that you can elevate your mind at anytime is a powerful feeling.

Operating at your ultimate mindset will having you taking your life to the next level. Your creative ideas will be better. Your abilities to achieve will be better. Your communication with the world will be better. Your relationships will be better. What more could you ask for?

What could you achieve if you knew that you were empowered by the greatest and most powerful thoughts? Tiger Woods is so great at his game because of the way he thinks. He knows that he can elevate his mind at any time to outplay his opponents. If Tiger can do it, then so can you.

If you get Knocked down, just get back up Again

If you get Knocked down, just get back up Again

Walt Disney said the following…….

All the adversity I’ve had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me… You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.

Life has many different ways of testing your resolve. These test are either going to make you, or they are going to break you. It all depends on how you deal with your failures. I want you to look at failure in a good way. I want you to look at failure as just an outcome. If you don’t get the outcome that you desire, just keep trying to succeed with different approaches until you get the results that you desire. Are you looking at failure as a stumbling block? Or are you looking at failure as a stepping stone?

Failure is just a chance to begin again more intelligently. The question is, are you beginning again with a better approach? Or are you forgetting to learn from your failures? Henry Ford said, “Win or learn, there is no failure.” You have to learn from your mistakes so you don’t keep making the same ones over and over again. Remember, life is going to knock you down. Just remember that no matter how bad it hurts, you have to get back up to fight another day. You have to keep on keeping on until you get to live the life that you have always dreamed of.

You are the creator of your future. You can do anything you desire if you believe in your abilities to achieve. If you get knocked down, just get back up again. What doesn’t kill you will only make you so much stronger. So the next time you find yourself down and out, get back up and fight. Get back up and give them everything you got and then some. You can not let anything turn you around. You are an achiever because you are a believer.
