7 Negative Emotions to Avoid in 2009

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

If you really want live the life of your dreams, I suggest you avoid the following feelings. It is impossible to feel bad when your thoughts are good.

1. Fear – Fear is at the top of the list because it will do so much damage to you and your life. Don’t let anything scare you. Use fear as an inspirational tool. Navy Seals are put in the worst situations possible while training because constant exposure to fear makes them mentally strong. Their preparation makes them accomplish impossible missions while they make it look easy. They strengthen their minds to believe that they can achieve any mission they are given. They don’t fear anything. President Kennedy said it the best. “The only thing that we have to fear, is fear itself. When you face your fears and consistently overcome them, the feeling is unbelievable. Use your fears as motivation to overcome. It is an unbelievable source of power. Look at fear as a power that is inside of you that is used to give you the power to face your fears. Use this fear as a strength or you will lose it.

2. Jealousy – Jealousy will really disturb you. Don’t be jealous of what someone else has. Don’t be jealous in your relationships. If someone is jealous in their relationships, it will only be a matter of time before they start making up stories about what their partner might be doing. This will take out such a toll on someone’s emotions because once the imagination starts running, it is only downhill from there. Never be jealous.

3. Hatred – Hatred can possibly end life as we know it. What more could I say? Hate leads to people getting killed. Don’t even hate someone that hurt you. Anyone that hurts someone is only doing that because they are really hurting inside. Don’t hate anyone, just don’t think about them. It is okay to dislike something, but it is wrong to hate.

4. Revenge – Revenge can go on for ever. Don’t get in the habit of being someone who is always seeking revenge. Don’t get revenge from your family, don’t get revenge from your partner. Don’t practice revenge, practice constant and never ending improvement.

5. Greed – Greed is why our economy is in such a rough shape. Greed has gotten the best of me on several occasions. I learned a tough lesson every time. Don’t be greedy, or else you will get the best of you. “Know when to hold them, and know when to fold them” as Kenny Rogers would say.

6. Superstition – Don’t be superstitious. People who believe in superstition will often create their own misfortunes. Don’t believe in luck. You are the creator of your own luck. Luck is preparation and opportunity getting together, it is up to you from there. You are the creator of your future. If you want to believe in superstition believe in karma. Don’t let a horoscope create a limitation. It is up to you to make your days great.

7. Anger – Anger is something that hurts so many people. Anger management is a must. If you are getting angry, you are only stressing your own body. Anger can hurt you so bad. Anger can hurt your love ones as well. Please control your anger.

If you avoid these awful emotions, you will have an awesome life. Practice avoiding all of these emotions. Bad thoughts = bad feelings. Good thoughts = good feelings. It is up to us to make our lives special. How special do you want your life to be.? Make it special now.

Our Mind Thinks an Average of 1,000 Thoughts an hour….

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

A recent study of brain activity has shown that humans think about 300 to about a 1,000 thoughts an hour. An average person has about 12,000 thoughts a day. I also discovered that a deeper thinker can have up to 50,000 thoughts a day. Since all life experiences are a direct result of our thoughts, we better be thinking of positive thoughts. Negative thoughts will slowly destroy you. Negative thoughts will drain your energy. This only leads to more negative thinking and before you know it, you will be living in the land of depression and denial.

Do you ever think:

“Why does this always happen to me?”

“I will always be like this, I can never change.”

“I can never make my dreams come true.”

Your thoughts will become your reality. In fact, everything in the world is here because of a thought. If our thoughts become our world, our world is only going to get better when our thoughts get better. The problem is that so many people are living in denial that they can’t see that they are the problem. They don’t want to believe that its their fault. They want to blame everyone else for their own problems. They are the creator of their own misfortunes. Until these people reset their belief systems, they will never reach their full potential.

You and I are different. We are not going to let negative thoughts set us back. We have power and control over our thoughts and actions giving us total control of our futures. Thought control is an unbelievable power to possess. We all have been created equal. We all have the potential to achieve anything we desire. We must focus on the most empowering thoughts ever. We must focus on our ability to achieve. We must reach for the stars. We must make it happen now. If we don’t, someone else will. The question is are you going to get the best of your thoughts? Or are your thoughts going to get the best of you?

What Would you Celebrate if…..

Monday, January 12th, 2009

What would you celebrate if you didn’t have a problem in the world? Would you help others who were in need? Would you always have a smile on your face? Would you go out of your way to make people happy? How would you spend your days? Happiness comes from within. Are you getting in the way of your own happiness? Are you preventing yourself from celebrating life? I know we all have problems in life. Some are real problems, some are exaggerated problems. Problems are problems, but the beauty of all problems is that they can be solved. It all comes done to how we handle these problems that we have. Some of us handle pressure better than others. The bottom line is this, are you going to let your problems get to you? Or are you going to get to your problems? Don’t let life eat you up. If you have a problem don’t worry, because the more you worry, the bigger the problem will get. Become a problem solver. Take action to overcome your problems. Just don’t worry about your problems. Worry only causes more problems. Actions eliminate problems. So look at your problems as opportunities to solve a problem. Your future comes down to how you see it. Is your future brighter than ever? It will be if your outlook for the future is. Celebrate life, because life is beautiful and very precious. Never let a negative thought enter your head. It is impossible to feel bad when your thoughts are good. Start tomorrow off as a celebration. In fact, celebrate everyday that you get out of bed because you have an opportunity to make your day better than ever. Your life is what you make of it, so make your life extraordinary. Celebrate everyday because you will never know when the party ends. Celebrate life.

Persistence, You Either have it or you don’t. 5 Steps to Becoming Persistent

Sunday, January 11th, 2009

Persistence is definitely one of the great characteristic traits of all successful people. Persistence allowed Thomas Edison to keep moving ahead, when he had already failed over 1,000 times trying to invent electricity. You either have persistence or you don’t. The good news for everyone is that persistence is a state of mind, you can make your persistence stronger by the day. Persistence is your intense burning desire to succeed. Persistence is the powerful force inside of you that keeps pushing you on when that little voice is telling you to quit. Now is the time to get more persistent than you have ever been. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Now is the time for you to step up, now is the time to get your persistence on. The people who were able to move forward in the darkest times were the people who will never be forgotten in our history books. Persistence rewards you for your efforts when you achieve your goals. It is one of the greatest feelings in life. So turn up the flame to as hot as it will get, so you can use your burning desire to achieve the greatest outcomes of your life.

Follow these steps to better persistence.

1. Know exactly what you want to achieve.

2. Your desire to achieve must be nuclear hot. If you have no desire, turn up the flame.

3. Believe in your abilities to achieve. You will have to believe it, before you see it.

4. Your strategy for achieving must be sound.

5. Will Power, Will Power, Will Power. Do I need to say it again. Will Power. The ability to keep on, keeping on when others would quit. Never quit trying until you achieve.

How to Treat each Other in 2009. Are you Going to do the Right Thing?

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

2009 Is the time to treat each other better than ever. Its time to live better than ever before. This means we really have to try to get along with each other. You can’t turn on the news without hearing of a story that will just make your jaws drop. Friends, lovers, family, coworkers, you name it, if they are not scamming each other, they are killing each other. Who could ever imagine a horror story like Casey Anthony. A 22 year old who chose to kill her daughter, then went on to party like a rock star until she went to jail. I know you would never stoop to this kind of level, but I am asking more from you. I am asking you to step up your communication with the world. I am asking you to step up your humanitarian efforts. Be good to people both near and far. Set the bar high for the people in your life. Inspire them to follow your awesome example of good will. If you are a victim of someone being bad to you, don’t be bad back. that’s too easy. Just cut them out of your life. They are the ones who have to go to bed at night knowing what they did. If they have a conscious, they will try to do the right thing. If they don’t make amends, that is okay because they are the ones who are missing out from your awesome friendship and love. Never talk bad about anyone. Besides, criticism is just a disguised compliment. Always try to take the high road every moment of every day. Never let a negative thought enter your head because that precious thought should be an inspiring and empowering thought. Not a demoralizing negative thought. Your thoughts will become your reality, so make your thoughts to be as amazing as ever. Your thoughts will become your life, so make them special. You are only going to pass this way one time in your life. Make sure you are unforgettable to everyone that you meet. Go out of your way to make people smile. You will get everything in life that you want, if you help everyone else get all the things that they want in their lives. Never waste a precious moment of life for you, or anyone else. Make the rest of your life, the best of your life. Make your days extraordinary while you go out of your way to make the world a better place. You can change the world one thought at a time.

Use your Strengths to your Advantage the way that Tiger Woods and Michael Phelps do

Friday, January 9th, 2009

Know what your strengths are in life. Use them to your advantage whenever you can. Utilizing your strengths to your advantage will consistently get you the results you are looking for. However, you can never neglect your weaknesses. What I suggest is that you spend as much time as you can to improve your weaknesses. Working on your weaknesses will eventually bring them up to par with your strengths. This will really make you a powerful force. Some people will only work on their strengths, thinking they are doing themselves good. What these people are really doing is exposing their weaknesses for their competition to exploit. Strive to be an amazing force that is complete with no weaknesses. Remember, nothing big in life is easy to achieve. It is hard to become a complete force, but when you do it will be so rewarding. You will be armed with the confidence of knowing that you can overcome anything that life throws at you because you have no weaknesses. You are all about the power of strength. People like Tiger Woods and Michael Phelps are perfect examples of people with no weaknesses. They are consistently using their strengths to achieve the great results that have made them the champions that they are. Study their approach to their profession and you will see how these two achievers have been so successful.

Walt Disney and his Imagineers Always Strived to “Plus It”

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

Walt Disney and his incredible group of Imagineers have always tried to “Plus It”, whenever they attempted anything that they touched. I have been working on a new project which has had me spending a lot of time at Walt Disney World. I will unveil this new project to you in very short time because I want you to see how you to take a business from a thought, to a profit. As many of you know, I believe that success always leaves clues. Whenever you want to do anything in life, you should study the greatest achievers in that field. This will allow you to model them so you can experience the same levels of success. I have been studying Walt Disney the man and Disney the company, and I have to say that he truly is one of the greatest visionaries of our time. His mind was incredible. He called his team of engineers “Imagineers”. Walt Disney would always inspire his “Imagineers” to take their achievements to levels which they had never been before. He would motivate these “Imagineers” to stretch their abilities when creating new technologies that they could use throughout the Disney brand. Whether it was creating new technologies for their theme parks or if they were creating new technologies for their movies and cartoons, they always tried to “Plus It”. When Walt Disney told them to “Plus It”, it meant to go above and beyond the best that they already achieved. This inspired his “Imagineers” to put forth an effort that was second to none. This made them push their abilities to the limit so they could always give it everything they had and then some. When they would achieve something big, they would always strive to “Plus It”, so they could even make their achievement bigger and better. This created an experience for the Disney clientele that couldn’t be matched elsewhere. When you are setting an expectation to “Plus It”, you are setting an expectation to perform at the highest levels and then some. This creates an environment that dares people to be great. This dares people to achieve beyond their current capabilities. Talk about thinking big and dreaming bigger, Walt Disney and his “Imagineers” are the standard of excellence. which others could only dare to operate at. If you don’t try to “Plus It”, how are you going to achieve extraordinary results? What I have noticed is that everything that Disney does is above and beyond great.

What can we learn from Disney?

I am going to ask myself from now on, “Hooman, Did I plus it?” You should ask yourself, “Did I plus it?” Because if the answer is no, then we know that we have to go back to the drawing board. How about taking the “Plus It” approach to everything in our lives. We should always “Plus It” In our relationships, as parents, as friends, as mentors, in our careers. Life is too short not to “Plus It”, so from now on, you know what effort to put in everything that you do. 2009 is the year to “Plus It”. You can’t afford to do anything less, so just “Plus It”. I can assure you that if you take the “Plus It” approach to everything you do, you will soon be living the life of your dreams if you are not living it already.  Just “Plus It”.

Some awesome quotes from Walt Disney, Memorize your favorite ones and share them with others.

“All your dreams can come true if you have the courage to pursue them.”

“Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.”

“I believe in being an innovator.”

Strategize to Achieve more Times than you fail

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

There is two definitions under the word strategy in the Miriam-Websters Dictionary. The first definition says that strategy is the science and art of military command aimed at meeting the enemy under conditions advantageous to one’s own force. I really like that definition because it describes a way of positioning yourself to achieve the upper hand at the battle you are in. The second definition is a careful plan or method for achieving an end. Life is all about timing and opportunities. You should always position yourself to have the upper hand at any opportunity that you have. If you have given yourself this awesome positioning, then you will find yourself having great timing in every opportunity that you have in your life. Strategize your way through life and you will find yourself achieving more than when you fail. When you do find yourself in a position where you failed, learn from it and try again with a better strategy. If you have a sound strategy for anything you are doing in your life, you will find yourself succeeding more than you fail. I really like my odds when I have an awesome strategy, I know you will too. Get your strategy for 2009 ready and make it happen now.

When you have a clear and vivid picture of what goals you want to achieve, you are so much further ahead of the pack. How can you know where to go, if you don’t know where your destination is? Goals are like your road map to life. Here are some questions to help you achieve great outcomes this year.

Self Improvement Goals

1. What new knowledge would I like to learn this year?

2. What new skills would I like to learn this year?

3. What new achievements would I like to achieve this year?

4. What new character qualities would I like to possess this year?

5. How do I want my relationships to be like this year?

6. How do I want my physical health to be like this year?

Career and Financial Goals

7. What do I want to achieve in my career this year?

8. How much money do I want to make this year?

9. Where do I want to take my company/career this year?

11. What major financial goals do I have for the year? (New house, stocks, investments)

Taking Care of me Goals

12. What would you like to buy this year? (Cars, Boats, Jewelry, Etc.)

When you are done with these questions, write out a statement on why you are committed to achieving these goals? Who is going to benefit from you achieving these goals? How you are going to feel when you achieve these goals? What can you do now that is going to help you achieve these goals?

Do this now, don’t let the tranquilizing drug of procrastination get you.

Creating Goal Momentum

Saturday, January 3rd, 2009

Creating goal momentum will make your goals easier to achieve. When you wake up everyday, the very first question you need to ask yourself is, “What  actions can I take today that will get me closer to achieving my desired goals?” Each day of your life should be focused on achieving your desired goals. We should never waste any time on anything that is going to move us backwards in our lives. We should always be striving to move forward to achieving our goals. How do we do this? We do this by taking the necessary actions required for the manifestation of our goals. Big actions towards our goals are always great, but even several small actions will get us closer to achieving our goals. Rome was not built in one day, and achieving our goals won’t be achieved in one day either. As long as you spend everyday taking action towards your goals, you will be creating goal momentum. The beauty of creating momentum is that the more you build, the stronger the force. It is like a giant snowball rolling down Mt. Everest, it gets bigger, stronger, and faster by the moment. Your goals are the same. Develop an action plan for everyday that will get you closer to achieving your desired goals. This will turn you into an unstoppable force that will ultimately lead you to the success that you desire. Before I go to sleep, I take a notecard and write down my daily goals for the next day. I place the most important goals towards the top and work my way down. Every time you scratch off one of your goals, it gives you a confidence like you wouldn’t believe. Talk about creating momentum? This is a great way to build momentum. Begin writing your daily goals now. If HoomanCan I know you can.
