Who Is In Your Entourage?
Monday, September 29th, 2008Who Is In Your Entourage?
What kind of people do you hang out with? Are they the movers and shakers of the world? Are they the go getters always striving for growth in their lives? Or are they people who just sit around and try to bring you down to their pathetic levels? Who you roll with is going to make a huge difference in your life. Trust me on this one. I grew up hanging out with the so called “cool kids” in high school. These people inspired me to do great things like almost drop out of school in the tenth grade. They helped me find my way into trouble. The funny thing is that I can’t blame them, I can only blame myself. I had a choice to make. I chose to hang out with them and as a result I almost paid dearly. It was only when I decided that I had to make a change of friends that I started making my life easier. You are the company that you keep. If you hang out with losers, you will always be a loser. If you hang out with people that have accomplished more than you it will only inspire you to accomplish more in your life. It was really difficult for me to cut ties with my old friends. I heard the people who I used to hang out with talk bad about me because they would say things like, “He thinks he is too good for us.” They were right, I was too good for them. I had become a better person, I had to. I became a father at the age of 22. The fact that I had someone who relied on me made me a much better person. If they were really my friends they would have understood.
Michael Vick Syndrome
Do you think Michael Vick would have been in jail serving a sentence for dog fighting if his entourage was full of educated and motivated people instead of his friends that were using him to make their lives better? His entourage was what brought him down. He probably lost over a hundred million dollars because of his poor decision making. The sad thing is that people all over the world have negative people in their lives that limit their beliefs because some person told them they couldn’t do it so they want everyone in the world to be just like them. They want everyone that they associate with to think the same negative thoughts that they think because misery loves company. Don’t make the same mistakes that Mr. Vick made. Choose your friends wisely so you can have inspirations around you. You want to hang out with people who bring out the best of you instead of people who bring out the worst in you. It may seem hard sometimes to let go of your old friends or family members who are negative but if you don’t, you will end up just like them, miserable. Find a new group of people that you associate with so you can always be inspired by your entourage.
